Team Registration Basics
Registering to compete in Destination ImagiNation® (DI) can be slightly involved but if you can get all your info together things will go much easier. Whether you're a district coordinator registering a number of teams, or an individual registering one team, the steps you have to take are the same. Please read all of the information below to help guide you through the process.
Step One
Register your Team with Destination Imagination:
You must first register your team on the national Destination ImagiNation website. Click on the "Start A Team" link above. The fees you pay will be for BOTH the national organization and the State organization. You will be issued a team number that looks like this: "148-xxxxx". Once you have this number, your Registration with Destination ImagiNation, Inc. (the global organization) is complete and you can continue to Step Two.
Step Two
Register your Team with Wisconsin Destination Imagination:
After registering with National, you must then provide some information to Wisconsin DI so that they can properly place your team in the correct Regional tournament. At this point you should know your team number and what Regional your assigned to.
Step Three
Communication With Regional Director
Although this step is not critically important in September or October, you will have to keep in contact with your Regional Director.
- Verify you are competing at your given Regional.
- Know what your Regional Fee is and if it was paid.
- Find out the time and dates for Appraiser Trainings
- Time and dates for Team Manager Trainings
- Time and date for the Team Manager Roundtable
- Time and date for your team's presentation
- Make sure your team will provide an Appraiser or volunteer for the tournament
A lot of information starts flowing about six weeks prior to the tournament, it is important to keep up to date. Many times a school coordinator is the point person for this information, but if you, the Team Manager, is not getting the required info, then feel free to contact the Regional Director. If your Region has a website, make sure you check it for current information.
Registration Information
In order to receive all Challenge and Program materials you must first obtain a Team Number. This is accomplished by completing step one.
Included with every Team Number is a complete set of Program Materials which includes all 7 Team Challenges, the Rules of the Road, 10 Instant Challenges, Team Manager Guide, plus more.
Coordinators
You must obtain a Team Number for each and every team in your school/organization - every team that competes must have a unique number. Team Numbers are available for single teams, or in bundles of 5, 30, or more. See more information below
Team Managers
If you are a Team Manager for a school- or organization-sponsored team, then your DI Coordinator is most likely responsible for purchasing all the Team Numbers for your school/organization. Talk with them to find out your Team Number or to help arrange purchasing one for your team.
However, if you are starting your team independently, you will have to purchase the Team Number from www.ShopDI.org.
Purchasing Options
These prices are for the National membership, a separate State fee will also be charged.
Rising Stars $55.00 or part of the 5-pak
1-Team Pak $135.00
5-Team Pak $390
Provides FIVE different Team Numbers for five teams to compete. NOTE: Just because you buy a 5-Team Pak doesn't mean you must use all the Team Numbers. Therefore, if you have three or more teams, it is more economical to purchase a 5-Team Pak as it will be cheaper.
If your School or Organization has not purchased any Team Numbers OR if you would like to register as an independent team, click here for information on how to purchase a Team Number.
Once you have your Team Number, you can then proceed with registering your team for the Wisconsin Tournament.
