Greetings and Welcome to the Wisconsin Destination Imagination Community!

The Wisconsin Destination Imagination program has recently undergone a transition. We have a new Affiliation, a new Board of Directors, and a new Affiliate Director. Our new Identity is Wisconsin Destination Imagination Inc. or WIDI for short. We are thrilled to have all of the 07-08 Regional directors continuing on our WIDI team; so, the changes should be virtually seamless to you. We have been very careful in preserving what is special about our program and reinforcing areas where there were opportunities for improvement. Along with these changes, I am thrilled to introduce myself to you as the new WIDI Affiliate Director.

My name is Steve Cormier. It is my great pleasure to serve you, our stakeholders, and provide you with the best and most consistent product, our WIDI program, and all that comes with it. I have been involved with DI for well over 20 years in 3 affiliations and bring with me the experience of those associations. At one time or another, I have held every position in the program with the exception of team member. This experience means that I know what it is to be: a parent, a team manager, an appraiser, a challenge master, a global final head appraiser, a challenge writer, and above all an optimistic supporter of all that is DI. It is through these experiences that I serve you. After all, I really have only one internal driver, and that is "I do it for the Kidos". There is no other program that teaches such very important life skills including: creative idea generation, working as a team, working to a budget, working to a schedule, and learning how to sort ideas and come up with solutions that must be demonstrated and not just written into a report.

In private life I am an advance development engineer, and I can assure you that these skills embraced by DI are used each and every day in the products we see and use in and around our lives. This is why we affirm that DI is the most important course in education.

Please join all of our regional directors and me in an enthusiastic and inaugural year of WIDI. Catch the electricity of the creative process in the solutions to our challenges this year!

Yours through DI, Steve Cormier
