WIDI SCHOLARSHIPS

WIDI's Mission Statement: To provide platforms that inspire and equip the Wisconsin community of lifelong learners to utilize distinct and diverse approaches in learning 21st-century life skills, the creative process, and vital skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.

In alignment with this mission statement, WIDI is thrilled to offer scholarship opportunities that can help DI participants take their DI skills further as they pursue higher education to meet their goals.

Dave Valentine Extreme Creativity Award

Open to High School Seniors 

This award is to recognize the achievements of a Destination Imagination graduating high school senior for participation in creative problem-solving in Wisconsin.

Eligibility Criteria: A Wisconsin graduating high school senior who has been on a DI team, and/or has been a DI volunteer, for a minimum of two years (you may include the current season).

Application period for 2024 is now closed!  Submission deadline was Midnight CT, March 1, 2024.

Elaine House Alumni Award

Open to College Students

This award is to recognize the achievements of a Destination Imagination postsecondary school student for volunteerism and participation in creative problem-solving in Wisconsin. 

Eligibility Criteria: A Wisconsin resident, age 25 or under, currently enrolled in college, university, or technical school who has been on a DI team in Wisconsin and/or has been a DI volunteer, for a minimum of two years (you may include the current season).  A previous recipient of the Elaine House Alumni Award for College Students may not reapply.

Application period for 2024 is now closed! Submission deadline was Midnight CT, March 1, 2024.

Evelyn (Evie) Solder

Evie has participated in Destination Imagination for 7 seasons and continues her involvement in DI as a volunteer.

Currently, Evie is an assistant DI Team Manager at the Elementary Level. She has appraised for an Instant Challenge Round Table, as well as volunteered at Regionals.

In 2017 AND 2021, Evie’s DI team earned the “Spirit of DI” Award. Evie credits DI for her interest in theatre, which led to her involvement in high school theatre and Shakespeare summer camps. Evie plans to major in theatre in college.

Anya Ranft

Anya has been involved in Destination Imagination for 10 years, and is believed to have the longest record of DI involvement of any current students in the Milwaukee Region.

She has been involved in DI as both a team member and a volunteer. In 2017, Anya’s team took second place at Global Finals.

Anya has worked to raise the profile of DI in her area by working as an appraiser, score runner, time keeper, and announcer at tournaments. Currently, Anya is the captain of her District’s Rising Stars appraisal crew.
